In each of these books I have tried to give the reader some ideas about how the tunes came about and were taken from actual events.  Some are funny, some are sad, but that's life.

Book One

The Otter Suite and Other Jigs (2001)

The Otter Suite was written particularly for the Northumbrian pipes.  They are playable on the squeeze box but not by the faint-hearted

Now out of print.

Book Two

More Damn Jigs (2001)

So I like jigs!

These were written for the accordion although some of the runs and glisses are be impossible on a melodeon.

Now out of print.

Book Three

No More Jigs - Just Some Simple Arrangements (2002)

Exactly what is says on the label...

A selection of some of my non-dance tunes for filling in when everyone else is resting.

Now out of print.

Book Four

I Lied About the Jigs (2002)

A further selection of dance tunes which can be set together as medleys or played singly.

Now out of print.

Book Five

Filling the Bladder

An improved re-write of books 1-3.  One or two extra tunes added and a few suggestions from other musicians have been implemented

Book Six

Bells, Buckets and Bladders

More modern tunes in the traditional style and scores of simple arrangements for beginners.  The introduction of the "Lancre" tunes for the Morris side.

Book Seven

Beyond the Bladder

Mixing traditional with the latest synthesized sounds.  It works for me, see what you think.

These tunes will be scored a little more loosely than the others.

Book Eight

Big Balls, Little Winkles and Salty Songs

I decided to do my bit to preserve a lot of bawdy songs which the current spate of political correctness seems about to destroy forever.

If you're over 18, ignore the warning on the cover and are deeply offended - don't blame me.

Book Nine

Airs & Graces

The Airs are inspired by the pipes from the Deerness workshop.

The graces are dances in a more formal style suitable for the grander ocassion.

After several requests by a couple of people who are keen on computer animation, we have decided to look into virtual dance instruction on DVD.  To show how easy it is, we are hoping to take a character with a personality like Foul ole Ron and teach a group of virtual Morris men, some easy dances.  The music, of course, will be by the Pixelators, our virtual folk band.

Watch this space for further developments.
